Responsibilities
- Build and maintain data pipelines to collect data from various sources (app databases, product logs, 3rd-party APIs)
- Assist with loading and transforming data into our data warehouse (BigQuery, Snowflake, or similar)
- Ensure data quality, reliability, and freshness across pipelines
- Work with analysts and data scientists to create structured datasets that support dashboards and models
- Support implementation of tracking events and product instrumentation (e.g., Mixpanel, Segment)
- Write clean, reusable Python and SQL code for data transformation tasks
- Document your pipelines, datasets, and workflows for internal teams
- Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline issues, and continuously improve performance
Qualifications
- 0–2 years of experience in a data engineering, backend engineering, or data-heavy technical role
- Strong SQL skills and comfort writing queries across complex datasets
- Familiarity with Python for scripting and basic ETL tasks
- Understanding of how data flows in a web-based SaaS environment
- Clear thinking and attention to data quality and performance
- Eager to learn and grow in data infrastructure, tooling, and best practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field
Bonus Points For:
- Experience with Airflow, dbt, or similar tools for pipeline orchestration
- Exposure to cloud data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift)
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD concepts
- Basic understanding of SaaS metrics (MRR, churn, retention, etc.)
