Responsibilities

Job Overview: The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be responsible for overseeing the company’s day-to-day operations, ensuring operational efficiency, and implementing effective business strategies. The COO will work closely with the CEO and other executive team members to drive operational excellence and support the company’s growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational Leadership:

  • Develop and implement operational strategies that support the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the company to ensure smooth and efficient processes.
  • Monitor and optimize OKRs to ensure operational effectiveness.
  • Align operations with the company’s strategic goals to drive growth and profitability.
  • Utilize data and analytics to drive decision-making and operational improvements.
  • Lead the implementation of best practices across all operational functions.
  • Streamline operations to reduce costs and improve employee satisfaction.

2. Process Improvement:

  • Identify areas for improvement in company-wide processes, enhancing productivity and quality.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

3. Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage department heads to ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop talent and succession plans to build a strong leadership pipeline.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration across all departments.

4. Resource Management:

  • Manage the allocation and utilization of resources to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Oversee the procurement and maintenance of operational equipment and technology.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

5. Financial Management:

  • Work with the Finance Team to develop and manage the company’s budget.
  • Ensure cost-effective operations and manage financial risks.
  • Oversee financial performance and implement measures to achieve financial targets.
  • Optimize operational expenditures to improve the bottom line.

6. Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and suppliers.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings.
  • Communicate effectively with employees, executives, and the board of directors.

7. Network & System Infrastructure Management:

  • Oversee the management and maintenance of the company’s network and system infrastructure.
  • Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with the IT department to implement technology solutions that support business operations.
  • Monitor system performance and implement upgrades or improvements as needed to support operational demands.

8. Risk Management and Compliance:

  •  Identify and mitigate potential risks in projects and operations.
  •  Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 8 years of experience in a senior operational role with a proven track record in implementing successful operational, people and culture strategies in the product company.
  • Must have specific experience in scaling a company to from 200+ to 500+ employees.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills, along with strong communication and interpersonal abilities, enabling effective collaboration at all company levels.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex projects and driving operational improvements.
