Responsibilities
Technical Responsibilities (80%)
Build & Scale Test Automation Frameworks
- Develop and maintain automated testing systems (Playwright/Selenium/Cypress) for UI and API layers.
- Implement performance, regression, smoke, and integration tests.
- Drive shift-left testing in collaboration with developers.
CI/CD & DevOps Integration
- Integrate testing pipelines into CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Ensure seamless compatibility with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Optimize test execution time and deployment readiness.
Monitoring & Quality Analysis
- Implement tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Sentry to detect real-time issues.
- Analyze logs, failure trends, and metrics to improve defect prevention and recovery.
- Track quality indicators like coverage, bug escape rate, and MTTR.
Test System Architecture
- Architect scalable, maintainable test suites across microservices, databases, and APIs.
- Define test strategy that aligns with tech stack and product release cycle.
AI/ML for Testing
- Explore and apply AI/ML tools for anomaly detection, test prediction, and visual regression testing.
- Pioneer smart testing techniques to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
Standardization & Reusability
- Create test templates, modular scripts, and shared libraries.
- Define and enforce coding standards for test development and automation scripts.
Leadership & Collaboration (20%)
Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing
- Guide and mentor junior and mid-level QC engineers in technical testing practices.
- Lead internal training sessions and code reviews.
Quality Metrics & Process Oversight
- Define and track quality KPIs aligned with product objectives.
- Provide transparent reports and insights to Product, Engineering, and Leadership teams.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Developers, DevOps, and Product Owners to align on quality goals.
- Participate in architecture discussions and provide feedback from a QC perspective.
Process Improvement
- Suggest and implement continuous improvements in QC workflow, SOPs, and documentation.
- Drive innovation in tooling and test strategy selection.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in software testing with hands-on experience in test automation.
- At least 2 years of experience mentoring or technically leading QC/QA teams.
- Proficiency in 2+ frameworks: Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar.
- Strong CI/CD pipeline experience (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Familiar with Docker/Kubernetes environments.
- Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Grafana, Sentry, Prometheus).
- Solid understanding of testing distributed systems, APIs, and databases (SQL/NoSQL).
- Bonus: AI/ML applied to quality engineering.
- Clear communicator with cross-team collaboration skills.
- System-thinking mindset and strong analytical/problem-solving ability.
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, TDD/BDD practices.
